Gonna put in a plug for my good friend's daughter who will appear in the "Blind Audition" round of The Voice tonight on NBC. Her dad is the old tire changer who is sooo kind to my friend Johnny G.
Her name is Laura Littleton and she is a kind and wonderful person who loves to sing. She has no previous notoriety of any kind but must have impressed someone.
I am excited for her.

I think this is OK to post but if not, please delete.

Just watched the Tuesday show of the voice and No Laura Littleton. I will keep watching the "Blind Addition" portion. Promise she is on it. Each coach gets 10 musicians and some contestants did not get chosen - So more "blind auditions" next few shows and I will be watching.

I watched the French edition on the web to see what it was (we do have one too !), but it did not appeal to me ; seems like they are doing covers of middle of the road hits, with musak's big names as judges (!!)...
We have too much of that already (as a matter of fact we only/mostly have that), so...

Is it what it is in the U.S. too ?

Bernie:
I agree with you on "the judges". Seems more air time is spent on the judges and their elementary badgering of each other than on the contestants. In U.S.A. they are making a big deal out of Blake Shelton's 23rd year on the show as being his last. I think Blake's ego would take a little hit if he knew how many viewers really cared.

Like the show or not, it's quite an accomplishment to even be chosen to participate. Good on all those young folk for putting themselves out there. Takes a lot of guts I think.

Agree with Richard on "guts to put yourself out there."
And thanks Chazmo.
Shen spent 6 weeks in CA last fall and 6 more weeks in January and February. She had been told not to reveal things about the show. And to her credit, she hasn't!

I’ll search YouTube for her. We’re cord cutters but a lot of stuff makes it to YouTube.

Just found out, from Laura, the contestant, The Voice is three or four weeks of the "Blind Auditions" and she does not know which week her audition is. The latest from the contestant.

I've watched a bunch of those. It's not 23 years but 23 seasons. I think they do it at least 4 seasons per year. They've had a few good guitar players and multi instrumentalists. Of course they sing too.

I never watch TV, don't even have a television (I still wonder if the actual advertising is within dedicated spaces, or in between :))...
But right, if artists actually play live too, it may be worth watching.
The French edition, is an actual copy of what I saw, when I looked at the American one...And yes judges (!!) are about what makes it so painful to me.

A "Little Bird" just told me I should watch tonight's episode of The Voice and this little bird should know--but you never really know!

Laura was last one on tonight's episode of The Voice and that is, exactly, how she is - just a beautiful soul. Don't think she did anything to hurt herself.
