Would you claim that ALL guitars are aesthetically pleasing ?
It's not a playing issue, it's a visual issue, and no playing issue has ever been suggested.
Pointy guitars of course, have great aesthetic value to some, and viva to those folks.
But pointy guitars suggest a genre of music that ain't exactly harmonious to a lot of discerning people here.
That "Ugliest Guitar" is ugly (to me) because Guild took a perfectly lovely design, and made what looks like (to me) a parts-bin special. It just doesn't look like an integrated design- so much of it "jars" my visual senses.
On the subject of pointy guitars, the Gibson Flying V (to me) is a lovely piece of design, the Explorer (to me) is not.
And I would suggest that a great deal of pleasure in owning guitars IS derived from hanging them on the wall/standing them on your music-room floor, and quietly contemplating their aesthetic beauty.
Try it, you may like it.
And, a handy tip; works best with liquid refreshment in hand !
