Tom Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival often played a Guild Starfire 6.
His younger brother but major talent John Fogerty can be spotted playing a Guild Bluesbird somewhere on a youtube recording of "Proud Mary".
Live, John Fogerty now plays "Proud Mary" with a black Les Paul. Whenever you see that black Les Paul in a concert or television setting, the song is probably in the key of D and the black Les Paul guitar tuned down a full step so that the chords or in the shape of E, A and B. Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising, and Run Through the Jungle are a few other songs played this way in the John C Fogerty catalogue these days.
I heard most of his guitars were destroyed in the Nashville floods last year, so he may be using a different stage set nowadays.
