Mark Farner, DV-52 :D

Gotta tell the story again. Passing through Lansing, radio station had Mark Farner in the studio, he played a few songs on an acoustic, then they had a call in segment. I got though and asked Mark "Do you still play any Guilds?" He said "You've got good ears, I'm playing my Guild here in the studio today, it's a DV-52." :D

Slash and Izzy Stradlin used Guild dreadnoughts in their G'nR years.

I'll let you to you experts the identification of the exact model:

P.S. This is the video that made me know Guild. The sound is fantastic.
Slash also uses a double neck crossroads.

Thanks One Wily for bringing the subject up again and I don't blame anybody for not wanting to pound through 3 years worth of threads, posts, dumbo yackety yack but it ought not to come as a surprise to you but this crowd pretty much already knows most of the artists who use/have been pictured holding Guild guitars ... and actually went to the trouble to compile a list.

So if you or anybody else has someone who has been overlooked, how about adding them to This LTG Thread from some time ago so all the effort to put together a composite thread isn't wasted and we don't have to read about the same artists as if it were fresh news .... because ... well ... a lot of it isn't. :) J

Some of these threads need to be archived for easy access, if possible. No?
Si; same for something to preserve the amp schematics and, at one time, FungusAmongUs (?) had thread going where he was tracking physical dimensions and binding details by model ... someplace to get an answer to: "how wide is the lower bout on a D-something...?" Could be done as a 'Sticky' but the host site / software doesn't have an FTP function; how come everything is linked ... files can't 'live' here. And I thought I remember Frono talking about this too ... since he actually knows something about it ... but it would be a good idea. J

Here's a good one. A rock band playing both a DV52 and a D55. Boy they sure get alot of snow up there in Buffalo. Funny how those geetars stay in tune in that weather. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=topxQ5lud-0 Bobby.

Don't forget about John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, he plays Guild. Just watched him last night in a concert, he brings out his Guild for the better acoustic songs like Iris.
