Some of these threads need to be archived for easy access, if possible. No?

A SHITE-load of stuff needs to be archived, and a great number of tediously repetitive subjects need to be stickied. Think bridge pins / saddle material for starters !

Good one Cap'n Wan !

And Tim Buckley, one of the very best, IMHO, no matter the brand (though he used Guilds throughout his career):

Some clips:

Here with -- what?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34FFcI98 ... re=related

And here with, I think, his 212XL (?):

And with some nice shots of his F-512 (go to the 1:00 minute mark) :

Both the latter with those ("one of a kind") double pickguards.

Saw Tim Buckley live in 1972 in Richmond, VA -- mesmerizing.

And look Chicagowineguy, it's Brian Adams from This LTG Thread from some time ago.
That's Ryan Adams without the B! Although the other guy wrote some nice pop songs...
Right CWG: Ryan Adams.

Anthony Ellis - rising star & Bryan Adams fan. Owner of the 72 D-25, that I bought in 1973.

If you're curious about the G-shield, click the 1972 D-25 restoration link in my sig.

Don't believe I saw Willy Porter mentioned. He used to play Valencias/F-47s and now plays his Sig CV-2Cs. Lots of YouTubes of him; here's one .....

I think he's playing a Porter signature, not a CV-2C...

Technically true, Cuth, though I like to think I'm playing virtually the same guitar as him(albeit poorly). His sig has a sitka top and different electronics and some ebony treble pins.

I think that the main difference is the ebony fingerboard, that changes a lot of the sound, if you think about the difference between a Les Paul Custom and a Standard, I don't recall that the specs of the WP indicated a Sitka spruce top but in this case I'll be twice happier to have taken a Cv-2C and not the WP.

Oh, okay .... forgot about that older thread.
No harm Z; given the talk about a 'Wiki'/LTG thread re/ Guild Artists, was trying to steer new posts to the old thread ... but, as Bobby Jones the famous golfer once said: 'Not every shot lands on the green'.

There are thousands of old threads and even if somebody wanted to follow the protocol of bumping existing threads, the old 'Artists' thread had sunk so far out of sight, nobody casually looking would have found it. Best, John

The following link is to a video by an early 80's band named Translator. The song, "everywhere that I'm not" got decent airplay (at least in Rochester, NY), but oddly didn't crack the top 100.

The reason I'm mentioning it is because the guitarist is playing an interesting Guild. I'm not sure what it is.
