I am interested to see what peoples thoughts are on which model would be the guitar to cover all styles of music! fingerpicked, flatpicked, strummed.

what would be your all round guild for all seasons?

I've got a Tacoma F47 maple that can handle all of that and more. Might well be the stranded on an island guitar for me. (Note, this is as of today. Depending upon what I pick up tomorrow, my thoughts might change :> )

Mine :D

I would have to vote for the D-25, mine has worked in almost every conceivable musical situation over the last 33 years and is still going strong.

1970's f-30 with the deep body- a cross between a small fingerpicker guitar and a mini jumbo (for the strumming)

I'll try and make an unbiased vote. Now you said "best all-around....for fingerstyle, flatpick and strumming". I'd assume you're referring to any of the mass produced models which would make sense.

Just no question in my view......the D55.

Hard to beat a plain good old D-25 in the overall category, IMO. especially if you throw in bang for your buck.

Someone suggested the F-47, and I would sort of agree, except I think it would be the F style in general. I've had my F-50 for 30 years, and in that time have found it is a very good guitar for just about any music other than strait classical. I currently have a D-50, and at one time owned a Brazilian D-50, and the one thing that the F-50 does that those guitars don't is swing rhythms. The F-50 has almost the quality of a good archtop for that style, I guess because of the maple body and the arched back.

I'd object that the F-50 is not good for lead work.

I'll second that emotion, Tony.
There's just something about the way the sound projects from that guitar with the deep body and the arched back.

D-25.

It's not only the best all-around Guild. It's the best all-around dreadnought in
the history of dreadnoughts.

Lesee. Gotta admit that D25 just might be the bedrock. And I certainly understand the D55 and GF leanings. Today is a new day; Monday, in fact.... My vote today is the DV52...

Yesterday in songwriting class my instructor said "Man that Guild is sure beat to **** but it sounds fantastic!"
My vote is for the D-25! I can pound on it with the pick, or pluck it with the fingers and it just shines shines shines!
