My ‘67 F-312 today. Got it from Miles Olson. Belonged to his dad, Tor Olson.
Spruce over Braz, it’s a great player with an interesting history. it was played at the Carousel Ballroom on South Van Ness Ave., which became the Fillmore West after Bill Graham bought the building.

As did I...as well as at The Avalon Ballroom, Winterland, Great American Music Hall, Cow Palace, GG Park Bandshell & Panhandle, The Overcast, Keystone Korner, Oakland Colosseum, Berkeley Community Theater, Provo Park, Mandrakes, Lower Sproul Plaza, The Jaberwocky, Freight & Salvage, New Orleans House, etc..

Lotta good music...

I’m not familiar with that Martin. Is it an sig model?
Yes. Diane Ponzio. She was tied to Martin and represented them at trade shows and such. This was her second signature Martin and I think they made just under 80. It Is listed as a jumbo 14 fret to the body but only 16” wide. Italian alpine spruce top with a larger sound hole, forward shifted hybrid “X“ scalloped bracing, Waverly tuners, and Ebony fretboard. Nice sounded and playing guitar

Gibson "Gospel" purchased new in 1973. Stock Grover Rotomatics, ebony fingerboard, 3-piece maple neck, spruce top/contoured (pressed plywood) maple back, maple sides. Might be a prototype. An early example, in any case.

Those are such great guitars

Yeah...that and my '59 5F1 tweed Champ are the only two pieces of gear from "the old days" that I managed to hang onto. The rest got traded, sold off or stolen, so who knows where the heck it all is...

I took this out today and put away my 1980 G-312sb. I'm going to visit my long lost friend tomorrow that I haven't seen in 20 years. He was a guitar buddy when I was 18-23 years old.
It's Taylor 362E small special order purchased from Sweetwater 08-2023.

I also seriously love that kind of Gibson label inside

I saw Buddy Guy at the New Orleans House from about ten feet away.
Roland Kirk at Keystone, WOW.

Today I used my Washburn parlour guitar to practice my music homework.
For once, my choice of instrument was deliberate.
I suffer from torn rotators in both shoulders, and aggrievated the left one very badly last night in my summer Tuesday hockey game.
It hurts so much today that the only guitar I can hold and play is the small 12-fret parlour.
And I play again tomorrow, so by Friday, I'll likely be practicing "Blackbird" on a kazoo.

I hope there were some penalites handed out for checking a goaltender!

Walrus,
Checking didn't do it.
It was a 75 year-old pretending he is 25, and trying to do the things on the ice that he could do easily 50 years ago.
A replaced hip, cartileage-less knees, torn forearm flexor tendon, and two torn shoulder rotator cuffs are the result.
But it could be worse. It could be raining.
Take Ibuprofin and call me in the morning.

Got out the '70 D50 that was re-topped by Wayne Henderson today. It is a truly remarkable guitar that feels just like the '73 I've owned since high school, but sounds more like a great Martin. It has what must be the nicest Adirondack top I've ever seen. Wayne says the wood comes "from my backyard".
