......yep, get more information.............before you buy it, right? Ok, I guess that is where the tax return goes..It a 76 D35 that's on it 2nd owner, for a couple of more hours. Ist owner had it in his closet for 20 years, played it but it stayed home. The guy said he just spent $150 getting it brought up to snuff, but bought an electric Gibson, so... :D Pics will be posted...I have to thank John Kidder for being a sounding board, of course he couldn't tell me not to buy it, I actually said to him at least this will keep me from buying something frivolous...it was such a good excuse I'm on my way to get it...ah I know you Guild junkies will be proud of me.....I also might, might, might have a nice D25 for sale, soon.  Steffan

Best of luck, Steffan. I like D35s a lot! That Hoboken on eBay is over $600 right now with two days left. And with crappy pictures, no less!

Hopefully it doesn't need a neck reset.

And that sums up the difference between GAS addicts and the rest of the world - we will happily spend a few hundred or a couple of thousand dollars on yet another instrument because it will "keep us from buying something frivolous". How perfect a rationalization is that: simply unassailable.

+1 And I'll add that good guitars are almost never a bad investment.

At least that's what I tell my wife

That's the only D25 I have Joe, Kinda attached to it too. A guy's gotta have a few investments right.,uh huh, uh huh. The 35 was owned most of its life by the original owner, he bought it then took up piano  Is that perfect or what? This really is very much like NOS, with a couple of small marks on it , same with the case, ...I don't think it has even really 'opened up' yet, so I have some homework to do...ah well, no complaints here, Its got a nice feel to it but has too heavy a set of strings on it right now, Neck is dead straight, no re-set done, as far as I can tell. Might even have the original plastic saddle, but not for long. Strap pin on the lower heel. OK, OK, you need pictures. I'll get on it, :D :D Steffan

Maybe both Joe, there are Bluegrass strings D'Addario that I really like, Top 3 are lights, bottom 3 are mediums....either that or lights. and it looks better in person. like I said nearly new, small ding on back and one on the neck, that's about it. I'm curious to see how it compares to the mahogany top, so far its close but the 35 is brighter a bit. both nice though, kinda wish I had an extra pair of arms... Steffan
