I find your preference for neck joint position fascinating, mostly because I've even noticed where my necks join.
What is it about the difference that makes you prefer the 18-fret option?
it is just easier for me to sound better, somehow. I am far from an expert or professional guitar player. I need to use the entire fretboard to sound good. It comes pretty naturally on 16 fretters, but 18 fretters just seem "easier" somehow, to sound good, playing the way I play.
I keep buying 14 fret electric guilds, because they sound so amazing. I just don't like playing them that much after long though, and keep selling them. 97 SF-2, 58 CE-100-D, 77 CE-100-D, 64 T-100 D...all those maple archtops sound glorious mounted at the 14th...they just were not my style.
and my acoustics are 14 ers, obviously. I still
enjoy acoustic but have really been more of an electric guy. My first acoustic Guild sounded and played so great, I went on a little bit of a spree. But i'm (slowly) selling off the vast majority of my acoustics
