X160 Rockabilly question - two Ebay guitars

Hey Walter, Its been awhile since I have been around here. They are not mine. I have had both RI and Corona x160s. My current blue one has a Westerly label. It is also a larger guitar than my previous Coronas. It is almost 17" and 3 1/2 wide. Larger headstock. Its really a large guitar . The Coronas were actually a little smaller than a Gretsch 6120. Almost wonder if those Ebay Guitars are NOS. Priced a little high if not. In this market I dont think could get within 400.00 with mine.

I bought the Cantina Blue one!

It's being shipped and I will be getting it in the next few days. I'll report back when I get a chance to check it out. I also couldn't confirm the year with the serial number, but in the pictures it looks almost untouched and definitely has a Corona label. If Hans or anyone has some info I'd appreciate knowing more. I have a 79 Westerly Starfire and am looking forward to compare the build quality between the two. dave in Canada

I have it! It sounds great. Had to tweak the neck and bridge to get the action where I wanted it but now it's fine. Sounds very different from my SF4. It has that "thump" that reminds me of my Strat. Lots of twang and beautiful clean sound (which is something I've always struggled to get with the Starfire and the Dr. Z amp). Enjoying it immensely. My 26 year old son was here tonight and played heavy rock on it with a distortion pedal and it sounded surprisingly good (I usually hate that stuff). Now he wants it....he'll have to wait to see if he's in the will......

Will post pics and sound samples when I get around to it. To anyone out there, if you can get your hands on one, buy it. I paid a bit more than I probably should but I'm happy with it. dave
