Well there are power trios, and then there are power trios behind a front person. The latter would include Led Zep, Sex Pistols, REM, and about half of the material from the original Joe Jackson Band.

You stole my thunder. Absolutely. Hendrix was light years ahead of his time. When I used to listen to Stevie Ray a bunch, Hendrix always came to mind.

West
There probably wouldn't have been a Stevie Ray without a Jimi first, but there probably wouldn't have been a Jimi without a Buddy Guy first.

Beck Bogert and Appice.
Some folks may not realize playing with Vanilla Fudge and Cactus's rhythm section had been a dream of Jeff's since '68.

When I first saw ZZ Top they were relatively clean shaven. I think only Dusty had a small well kept beard. That was their world tour of '73 and the bizarre thing about the show was live animals on stage. I remember a large "long horn" steer on the right side of the stage and a vulture behind or adjacent to the drummer. There were other animals on the stage but I can't remember what they were. I was 18ish and a little "wasted" from the pre show party at the older guys I worked with apartment. I think they were pretty old...like 26!

Canada has given us some incredible power trios!
Mahogany Rush
Rush
Triumph
Yes they have. Frank Marino is one of the most underrated guitar players ever, I mean most guitarists know but he never got the attention he deserved. Lot of good songs and he was an absolute monster guitar player, would play fast runs while hitting vibrato etc

AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH 😩💩😡⚡😩💩😡⚡😩💩😡⚡😩💩😡⚡😩💩😡⚡😩💩😡⚡😩💩😡⚡😩💩😡⚡😩💩😡⚡

Being child of two language teachers - and despite of that STILL interested in languages - one of my pet peewees has for years been the disgusting habit of folks using distance parameters to describe time.

I thought it was a superdumb finnish habit - morons are all over the planet . . .

If Jimi REALLY was lightyears ahead of others - where was he - in Andromeda ? ? ?

And to not leave w anger

🐾 ☮️ 😂
How do you feel about using “quantum leap” to describe large phenomena?

One for the lead bass players ... a power trio slightly on the outside of the envelope.

Trilogue (the late great Mr multiphonics Albert Mangelsdorf , Jaco Pastorius, and Alphonse Mouzon)

Live in Berlin, 1976, full set 1 hr and 2 min.

Or if you just want to skip ahead to the funky and crowd pleasing closing number:
