Um ... er ... it's not a Guild. For the last few days I've been playing my Collings OM2 (not OM2H--it's unusual that way), short-scale with an Engelmann top. It's silly to say it doesn't sound like a Guild, because all my Guilds sound different from each other. But it sounds great, and the short scale is very comfortable to play. I was initially worried about the compound neck, but I actually find it very comfortable. The only difficulty is that my Dunlop capo won't work on the 9th fret for Lyle Lovett's "If I Had a Boat." Lyle plays a Collings--I wonder what capo he uses.

Back to Guilds tomorrow.

Playing my Chris Bozung CB Super with Cocobolo back and sides with Engelmann top. Just changed strings and letting them settle in.
Think F50R.

I broke out the F512 this afternoon... (well, it's getting dark at about 3:45 pm, so I don't know if that's afternoon or night, lol.) I had it tuned to drop D and I was thinking the bass wasn't as big as I remembered. So I broke out the F212XL Std and tuned it to drop D, which is actually drop C since it's tuned a step down... Man that is a massive sounding 12-string, but tuned down it also sounded just a little "loose." So, what the heck, I broke out the JF30-12. Super crisp and balanced and, well, not like the others! So now I don't know what to think... I'm bewildered. A very pleasant bewilderment!

Er what’s the JF tuned to? another thing it’s Maple right ? I wouldn’t expect a rock to change tone to possible humidity changes ? 😁

I put away my F20 this morning and took out my 1996 Martin D42. Really good sound and separation without as much volume as my Guild D66. This must have been a closet queen before I bought it from Gruhn in 2002 and I had it in storage for 15 years until this past August. The only marks are a few pick marks on the pick guard.
I hope everyone had a fulfilling holiday!

Playing the 14 fret Orpheum I got from Richardp69. Just a great playing and sounding sloped shouldered Mahogany dreadnaught.

My slope shoulder mahogany 14 fret Orpheum is tied with my 1964 F30 as my favorite mahogany/sprucer guitar. I guess I should play it tonight.

May be my favorite Mahogany/Spruce sloped shouldered? Really which ever one I have out - the Orpheum or Bozung Mahogany/Spruce sloped shouldered. You, almost, have to play one to appreciate it.
