Running Michelins on both my pickup and my VW GTI. Great tires.
Yeah but then we get away from running joke of mercilessly tweaking each other about our tire brand loyalties. In all honesty, I firmly believe that Michelin is often (depending on car / tire size and type) the best tire one can slap on his production car, but I also firmly believe that they are not always the best bang for the buck.
But, but, but, isn't that a warranty story? I mean, isn't that a golden opportunity to get back on topic? There is one brand I will never ever touch again however: Firestone. I will never put that crap on one of my cars again. But that's a whole other story, involving tire deformation after 4 months on the car etc...
Firestone as a whole I will never touch again. Went there for brake service once, and bought a "lifetime package". Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! (Read about the ordeal here).
I am suitably impressed. Also of note is that I got over 80,000 miles out of the set of Michelin LTX AT2 tires that were on my last Sprinter, after the OEM Contis didn't even make it to 30,000.
Well given the overwhelming unanimous support for Michelin, there won't be much poking necessary anymore, so let's get over with it, and admit that they are the best tires. Publicly will you? layful:Yeah but then we get away from running joke of mercilessly tweaking each other about our tire brand loyalties.
Eh eh eh..... apologies for keeping y'all hanging and desperately waiting for a settlement on that issue, and here it comes:And speaking of long term cost and wear, what about that Florida state law preventing owners from rotating their tires if one axle's pair is too far gone compared to the other?
Doesn't CharlieA deserve to be brought up to speed on your findings in that little fiasco?
(At last post, he still thinks it really is a law)
I mean, c'mon, where's your public spirit?
Just 'cause ya drive a hot car doesn't automatically make you socially irresponsible.
THAT part comes from being a blues musician.
He's from New York. He thinks braking occurs when you t-bone the other driver!I am suitably impressed.
I gotta ask though, did it ever see more than 60 mph?
And do you practice the "get off the gas w-a-a-a-y before you expect to have to use the brakes" philosophy?
Beg to differ. ASsuming good quality steel, it's all about whether or not they're still thick enough to re-surface. WITH OEM rotors you should be able to get at least 2 resurfaces before worrying about replacing rotors. What a scam.... rotors replacement is part of any brake job typically, unless you're lucky enough to find a shop willing to resurface, and there are less and less of those, due to the risks associated with resurfacing.
Yeah but hot car drivers don't get no respeck.I'm offended. As a hot car driver.
Bravo Bravo magnificent veer.I so hoped this thread had something to do with the band Tesla, and their arsenal of Guilds.
Well, now it does.
OOOOHHHH>>>>Evil hearted you!!!.... and admit that they are the best tires. Publicly will you? layful:
Yeah Songbird.Good voice. And nice 412 (and Songbird?)
I'm offended. As a hot car driver.
And we still haven't even started to explore the zombie banking problem yet, either. This is a travesty of veerage. How the heck did we get so far off topic? <lol>
Hot car-driver? Or hot-car driver?
