You killed it on this one, Mike. Gorgeous! Did you end up binding the fretboard? Looks like it in the picture.

By the way, the clear guard was the right choice.

Thanks, it came out really well. The binding was re-done.

I'll take some pics with the black guard but, I think you are right, the clear one will probably be the choice.

TVEye, I would have thought that guitar was "totaled".

You restored a piece of history and I hope it plays as well as it looks.

It does indeed L.A. It looks pretty good with the black guard too......

Sweet Mike! I know I'll probably be in the minority but that black pickguard just ties the body to the headstock and looks much better than clear. Awesome job

I think I would prefer the black if it had the pickup covers, but with them missing I like the clear.

I dig both variations. In any case, that's one seriously nice restoration job. Congratulations, that rocks.

Looked so nice just hangin' there, I had to share.
Think I'm finally done with this one.
I will post, outdoor, detail pics when I can (roof was redone the last 3 weeks and painting happening now.)

Indeed, a truly amazing transformation and a sharp looking result. You really did an amazing job. Tell us more about how you got the neck binding back in place. Glad you found an HB1 Pickup cover but where? Looking fwd to more pics.
