I could use 4 of the gold knobs for Pilot Pro V/SB-602V bass...if that is what those are

HeyMicky and mavuser,

My assortment of parts is relatively sparse so I didn't plan to give any up at this time. I suspect Hans may have a lot of the parts you want in his inventory. Word on the street back when Westerly closed was Guild was selling pallets of parts. From the look of Hans drawers he may have what you need and other hard to find Guild parts. A few years from now, as I settle into retirement, I will begin to let parts go as I consolidate on the "keepers". Until then I'm reluctant to let parts go. However I will keep you guys in mind as things change and if you still have a need for any parts I will make them available.

Tnx,
M

Drawer of the month - Headstock overlays

Sorry for being a little later than usual. Had to look for a specific headstock overlay today and I thought it would be a nice idea to show a few of the really rare ones:

Here's a Johnny Smith - Artist Award Model overlay before engraving,

Overlays_2.jpeg

and a really weird one for a Guild Benedetto:

Some of you might find it interesting to see the original 'masters' for the pantograph that did the engraving for the Artist Award overlays:

Maybe a little short this time, but that's what it has to be for now and most of you know what the majority of overlays look like anyway.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

The master templates are so cool! And they explain the consistency of the AA engraving compared to the ones done in the 1960s (presumably free-hand by one of the workers).

Very nice Pantographic Engraving Masters. At the shop where I served my 4 year apprenticeship for machinist, in the mid1970s, we had a Gorton Engraver that used templates like that. These days that design would be digitized and cut on a CNC machine.
Hans, You continue to amaze me with your stockpile of all items Guild. Seems like your drawer of the month thread can go on endlessly. I look forward to being surprised again and again.

The quality of the abalone they used for that one is amazing!
Those inlays are cut from abalam inlay blanks/sheets that are usually available with very colorful patterns.

When people occasionally look for vintage parts here, these drawers give a whole new meaning to when Hans says: “I might be able to help you with that.”.😂🤣😂

I've been in that room and while I haven't seen all the drawers, what I did see was mind-blowing.

Drawer of the month - Lefty harp tailpieces:

OK, Happy New Year everybody!

The thread about the lefty Starfire with a regular right-handed tailpiece gave me the idea of showing some of the rare left-handed harp tailpieces that I have.

LeftyTailp_1.jpeg

This is a really rare one with a nickel finish that would be great for an early left-handed X-175, X-150 or CE-100(D):

Here's a photo of some extra sturdy ones that you rarely see on a Guild guitar ...... lefthanded or righthanded.

Notice the extra reinforcement on the back side! I have no idea why Guild had them made that way and then hardly ever used them!
I have quite a few of those wrapped in the brown paper.

LeftyTailp_3.jpeg

And here's a version that was made without the G-cutout. Again no idea why Guild had them made like that, but they did use them quite a lot on left-handed Starfires from the late-'60s and first half of the '70s:

You all know what regular right-handed harp tailpieces look like, so I won't have to show you those, but I will show some really rare ones at some point.

Sincerely,
