Re. Maybe I should start a 'Drawer of the Month' thread? That could last 3 years for this part of the workbench!

OK, I threatened to do this in somebody else's 'For Sale' thread, so here's a try-out! Let's see if there are more people than 'just me', who get excited about these kind of things:

Here's a look into my N.O.S. rosewood bridges drawer.

I got most of these bridges after the Westerly plant closed in 2001. For the most part they are Brazilian rosewood bridges that Guild kept for repairs and restoration of older guitars.

Brazilian rosewood comes (came) in many tints & colors with varying grain patterns and I wanted to show a kind that you don't see a whole lot.

At the top there's a more usual, dark looking sample, but the one below is a really light colored one that I've seen mostly on black guitars. A dark bridge on a dark finished guitar often looks somewhat boring, whereas one of these lighter tinted bridges offers some contrast.

I do have a separate drawer for ebony bridges, but they don't get me excited as much as these!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

I'm just staring at those beautiful wood grains!

They can never come to the US because they're Braz, right?

They're beautiful, thank you for sharing!

The restrictions have been loosened at CITES level but individual countries may still be using old standards. Stuff can get done if one's got the time and patience to navigate the bureaucracy.

I'm not as organized as Hans but have a number of supplies from the Westerly closure. A sample of drawers open have HB1's, 60's mini chrome pups, Guildsby's.
One of these days I'll get around to organizing the remaining items. Problem is to get to the parts area I have to pass by a number of guitars and amps so I become distracted and diverted!

I can't even imagine how many spares you have stashed away. I bet your Telecaster drawers are also just as extensive.

I always suspected as much. I also believe your amp pile is much bigger than shown. :C)
