- TALKIN’ BITTEN BY THE 12-STRING GUITAR PLAYIN’ BUG BLUES -
( C / F / G )

‘WAS IN THE MUSIC STORE THE OTHER DAY, REALLY DID NOT INTEND TO STAY,

BUT I SAW THEIR SHAPE UPON THE WALL, SO, HERE’S THEIR STORY, THE WIDE

AND TALL, THERE WAS A “DREAD” IN THAT NEW “NOUGHT,” THERE WAS A

“JUMBO” TO BE GOT, THERE WAS A GUILD, THERE WAS A TAYLOR, THERE WAS A

MARTIN TO BE FAVORED.

FIFTEEN MINUTES THOUGHT I TO SPEND, AND AFTER THAT WOULD BE THE END, OF MY APPETITE FOR NECKS SO WIDE, WITH DOUBLE THE REGULAR STRINGS TOP-SIDE,

TWELVE SLENDER THREADS OF TENSILED STEEL, UPON THE BRIDGE UP FROM THE HEEL, TO “PROOOVE” TO BE MY UNDOING, THESE WOODS OF TONE WORTHY OF PURSUING.

THERE WAS BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD, INDIAN ROSEWOOD, AND SO THIS AMERICAN “KEN” WOULD, PLAY TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE, HUDDIE LEADBETTER, BLIND WILLIE McTIEL, LIDIA MENDOZA, PETE SEEGER, ERIC DARLING, BILL SVANONE, JIM “RODGER” McGINN, PAUL SIMON, JOHN DENVER, GEORGE HARRISON, GLENN CAMPBELL,......DID I MENTION LEO KOTTKE!......AND WHO CAN FORGET BARBECUE BOB!!

YES-SIR-EE, I PLAYED ‘EM ALL FOR NO TIME WAS THERE TO LOOSE, ONCE BITTEN BY THAT BUG OF BLUES, MADNESS GREAT DID BEGIN, WHEN REVERB OF STEEL UPON WOOD SWELLED UP FROM WITHIN, TO HOLD AN ORCHESTRA IN ONE’S HAND, WELL, IT WAS JUST TOO MUCH FOR ME TO STAND, OH, WHICH ONE WOULD I CHOOSE, TO SATISFY THIS BUG OF BLUES.

THE TAYLORS, ROSEWOOD, MAHOGANY, AND MAPLE, BRILLIANCE AND BRIGHTNESS WERE THEIR STAPLE, THE MARTIN ROSEWOOD, SMOOTH AND NICE, BUT LIKE THE TAYLORS COULD NOT BREAK THE ICE, ALONE THE JUMBO GUILD IN MAHOGANY OR ROSEWOOD, BOOMED DEEP AND CLEAR AS ONLY IT COULD, AND CUT THE ICE ON THE UPPER END, IN LOUD CLEAR TONES, ITS MESSAGE FOR TO SEND.

OH, THAT DEEP-CLEAR-MELLOW LOW AND MID-RANGE BOOM, COULD ONLY BE DELIVERED IN A JUMBO’S TUNE, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE FOR ME TO CHOOSE, NOW THAT I HAD BEEN BITTEN BY THAT BUG OF BLUES, YES, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE FOR ME TO FAVOR, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE FOR ME TO SAVOR, SETTLE FOR THE MARTIN OR GO FOR THE GUILD, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE WHEN THE DEAL WAS SEALED.

WELL CLOSE YOUR EYES AND YOUR EARS WILL TELL YOU, YOU DON’T HAVE TO SEE FOR ME TO SELL YOU, ON WHICH ONE IT WAS THAT I DID CHOOSE, TO SATISFY MY BUG OF BLUES, ALL YOU NEED DO IS GIVE A LISTEN, AS TO WHICH ONE IT IS THAT I DID CHRISTEN, WITH YOUR EYES WIDE-CLOSED, YOU’LL GET THE NEWS, ‘CAUSE OLE’ KEN'S JAMMIN’ ON THOSE TALKIN’ BLUES!

YES, “FOLKS,” THE COLONIAL WAS RIGHT! “ITS FINGER-PICKIN’ GOOD!”
HEAR THE USA IN YOUR 12-STRING, AHY! WOULD YOU PLEASE PASS THE JELLY......ROLL....BLUES? .....YOU KNOW, THOSE LEADBELLY-ROLL 12-STRING GUITAR PLAYIN’ BUG BLUES!!!!

(Fade-out)
WHERE'S ROBERT JOHNSON WHEN YA REALLY NEED HIM? ......OH YES! WE NOW HAVE ERNIE HAWKINS AND JEFF KELLY.....LIFE IS SO GOOD IT'S BAD WITH 12-STRING, 12-BAR BLUES....LIGHT BLUES....DARK BLUES....

HoboKen - (CR) 1999

Hello Guys!

I hear you talk about Sweden and the Swedish girls. I actually live in Stockholm/Sweden and my girlfriend is the most beautiful girl I've ever seen  Nothing beats the look of a blond Swedish girl

Welcome G.O, I 'm also a big fan of Guild 12-stringers, I have a JF-55-12 2000 that sounds just amazing!

Howdy Ab! What part of Sweden do you like in? Anywhere near Malmo? If so, next time I am in Copenhagen, Denmark maybe you can slide over for a jam! We can compare girlfriends! LOL! Ya know, I was actually talking about all Scan babes but I have to say that the Danish girls are the prettiest. Problem is they are also the most cold hearted! Hey, I guess with looks like that, they can be! LOL! By the way, I love Scan flags. I think they are so classy. My fave is the Norwegian flag............perfect colors....!

JF-55's are awesome. Weren't they renamed F-512 or something like that?

Hello!

No I'm in Stockholm, about 600 km from Malmo
Do you play originals or covers when you work as a musician on the boats for an example?

Mag,

I perform music of the 1960's-1970's with a few tunes from beyond chucked in for good measure. That Viking line was amazing. What a great time I had. Stockholm is a nice city as is "Goteborg".
