Arrived today. '78. Has it's share of dings/rash, pickup patina, a manageable amount of binding rot on the high E side and a snapped bridge low E adjustment screw. But, is in all respects awesome and stunning to boot. Original case too.
This is my 2nd S300-D. The first was also a '78, albeit refinished, but the neck profile was way deeper in cowboy chord territory (who knows) and we never fully bonded.
This neck is amazing and it is just a hero guitar. When I sold the first one I felt the super distortions were just too much. Now I realize how useful this is to have in the quiver.
All in all, an epic Guild day as I also received a '79 SF-4 purchased on this forum that has me grinning from ear to ear. These two plus the DeArmond S73-12 (also purchased on this forum) really have my needs covered. Other guitars are going up for sale. My bass collection is a different issue entirely.
