Shawn, that's a really nice guitar!! And after all these years it being a factory second means exactly nothing, in my book!! Congrats! I love the plain fretboard, too!! (y)(y)
Thank you! It certainly has its share of scratches, dings, blemishes, etc. But like my D25M, don’t care - just want it to play well and sound great. Hopefully, this one will when it arrives. Fingers crossed!

Different manufacturers have different definitions for terms like light gauge, medium gauge, ultra-light gauge so I use the actual numbers. I recommend .010-.047 tuned up to standard.

For tuning a whole tone low I would use .012-.050.

There's more on gauging and tuning on this page:

Can’t go wrong with EJ38 Light

Also a good idea to pick up a couple single .08’s if tuning to standard as they sometimes break. Tune that string up last. I’ve also substituted .09’s. I keep my 12 string tuned down a step to D but you don’t have to.

I'm pretty fond of mine. It stands up to any Guild 12 I've played, perhaps not volume wise but for sound it's so close to its bigger siblings that the difference is not worth mentioning.

The F 112 is the sleeper of the twelve string Guilds. The clarity is superb, and plenty of what makes a Guild 12 string good. A friend does a lot of slide on his.
