I've read some comments that an E string can pop out of the roller bridge, but less so with the later ones. I also suspected that they might have a better feel for "bendy" playing.Clearly you have no issues with bendy playing, but have you ever had an E string pop off?
Well, I haven't had any pop off issue from the bridge side, but I do have a pop off issue (with the carved S-100 recently purchased) where the E string slides off the lower edge of the finger board and gets stuck under a fret!! I think the problem comes from the bindings that were replaced (probably after e refretting job and that don't really fit in place, so I guess I'll take that one to my local guy (since Tom - aka "fixit" is so far away ) and have him look at it.
Might also be that the nut slot for the E string is too close to the edge.
Thanks for the kind words, and good luck with your hunting! (that S-100 is well worth the hunt... )
