Here is a pic or 3 for you Mr. Chapeau.....the nut is 1 5/8" by the way. If the neck weren't so small I'd likely still have it, that was one sweet guitar.. Steffan

micklevanon said:Interesting discussion. I have to say that between the D25, DC1E, D-4V (or whatever the nomenclature is) and my D15, I'll take the D15 anyday. All hog and arched back, it sounds like no guitar I've ever played. The two D-25s I've played were both Coronas and flat backed and I've discovered that I don't like flat backed dreads. They sounded like cardboard boxes. I did look at a D25 12 string, spruce top, arched back. Sounded brilliant, but unfortunately the neck was too warped. The guitar was unplayable above the 7th fret. I would like to find a Hog/Spruce/Arched back D25, or a D40 and see what they're all about, but guitar shops in West Central Florida just don't have a good selection of used instruments.
my three cents

Pat,
Since the D-40 is the top of the hogline, it might be compared to the D-55. But the D-40 doesn't have the fancy trim, so in that way it's like a D50.
I prefer the guitars without the trim so I can save some money and apply it to something else. Like a muzzle for Rosie.
