Not me! I'd feel I would need to buy it some flowers and take it out for a fancy steak dinner before I could touch it. I like my guitars simple and dirty. Those don't judge me.

Problem with trade-ins is my Guilds are worth more to me than they are to a dealer.

There's two sides to that coin. Makes buying a used Guild a bargain, however, hurts you if you're trading in a Guild for another guitar.

So, the best course of action is to keep the Guild and simply buy another one outright. However, since my funds are extremely tight right now, that is not an option for me.

That said, I dropped off my recently purchased '81 D25 at my local luthier for a setup. The shop has a pretty good inventory of new Guilds, Gibsons and Martins. Spend an hour playing some 20 guitars. I REALLY want a Martin D18GE. All I can say is WOW..... However, unless I can sell my wife's Civic to pay for it (she can walk, no?), it remains an elusive dream. Went home and still enjoyed my Tacoma D50 with the Martin SP strings.......

I realise this thread is about acoustics...but I'd consider trading one of my X175's for a nice twin pickup Gibson ES350 - though not my '62, that's not going anywhere.

Hey, the "trigger" reference also works for Willie Nelson's guitar... I wonder if Willie named it after the horse.

Been there and done that with other brands; five Martins and three Taylors. The infatuation wore off and I'm back to Guilds only in the corral. All prejudice aside, to me they just play better and provide the sound I expect fom a premium acoustic. At this point, I'm not even tempted anymore...
I agree with that too....
I am down to a couple of "non Guild" acoustics, and with maybe the exception of the Dove, I could survive much easier without any of them, as opposed to without ANY of my Guilds.....
When you hit the end of the rainbow........

I like Guild guitars a lot (obviously), but I realize that they're not the only guitar maker out there. I own some non-Guilds that I love too; I just don't get into them much on this forum. That's not why we're all here.

I think that there's a lot of nice guitars made by a lot of different people. To me, there's only two kinds of guitars; good ones and bad ones. I like the good ones, and the thing that I like most about Guilds is their consistency relative to certain "other" makes, and overall bang for the buck.
