are your guitars in stands, hooks or cases?

Always in the case if I'm not playing the guitar, and I put it back in the case, close the lid, and fasten at least one latch as soon as I get done with a song. I didn't even own a guitar stand until a couple of years ago. I basically only use the stand when I am alternating between two guitars in the living room, or in certain church services where I get called upon to do a couple of numbers, sit for a while, and then do another at a moment's notice.

Just put a some of mine on hooks a few days ago.
I like being able to simply reach up and pull one down and start playing.
The temp in the house is moderate most all the time.

When I see them all together suspended in air,so to speak,it is as if there is a corporate sigh..." Ahhh,we can finally breathe and hang out together, 24/7 !"

cases!!!!

I used to put my gutars on stands, but they would get dusty (though I played each one at least 2x a week) and especially in the summer the strings would get oxadized.

sure cases can be a pain to get out of the closet and open, but I spend less time cleaning and changing strings (a big plus)

I used to have twelve- thirteen guitars and assorted string instruments all laying out, but as I get older a few good guitars that I can play regularly is all I need- after all I only have two hands :)

Still having owned a lot of "cool" vintage electric stuff and acoustics I have a lot of good memories, and no regrets!

and speaking of all the guitars I need......... this leads into a plug for the guitar I'm selling in the FS/FT section 1983 f-20

Good looking wall, Jim, but where's the ladder?
Reminds me of that Clint Eastwood movie, Hang 'em High!

Short as I am, I don't have any problem.....and it sure beats the heck out of having cue sticks or billiard balls hit 'em.

Interesting reflection of the 12 string in that vase-like unit in the corner.
Great looking " Rack o' Guilds" !
Nice room !

Thank you Raj, I love every one of them like a child. The vase was a gift from my wife. She found it at an area music store that was going out of business.

Just out of curiosity, Jim, would the table fit if you oriented it the other way. Of course if you break from the guitar end, there's no worry.

Just thinking and always curious,

You've never seen me break before. In that room, all those really nice guitars..I'd have to refuse the game. I will never hurt a guitar. And I suck at pool ;)

Beautiful guitar wall, West. Is the opposite wall all Martins?

Come on over anytime Fused. And Joe, we looked at orienting the table the other direction, even looked at placing it diagonally in there....would have been running with the tile seams that way, the way it is just made the most sense to me.

i look at all these wonderful displays & would love to keep both of mind out on stands
but having recently lost my '81 Martin D-18 to a special needs kid (actually adult)
& a piece of heavy furniture, im afraid to leave any of my music stuff out.
one great thing came out of that horrid experience: My DV-6 :D
