I've tracked down a D100C and am in process of buying it.
Its in excellent condition, has all the goods... abalone cloud inlays, abalone headstock G shield, etc...

What do you think a good price is for it? Has OHSC, serial number 50 of the series.

Any guesses as to what its worth?

Hard to say having not seen her, but just for round numbers sake..........I'd say 3 grand. Depending on condition.......$2000 to $4000, just my humble opinion. Good luck on that one Jazzy. Let us know how you come out.

I coulda shoulds bought a perfect one bout 2 years ago for $2750, I backed out. Then was offered another mint one about a year ago.......$3250......I was ready, willing and able....the seller reneged. Just wasn't in the cards for the kid I guess.

Tell ya what though Jazzy, after the new wears off for you, one day we'll meet in Jackson and I'll bring you the DV72 or DV73 and you bring the D100, we'll swap for an extended, temporary stay.

Hey Jazz,

Heads up on West's offer of a temporary swap. His DV72 is a guaranteed winner.

No way, if it was mine, I'd ever let it out of my sight.

Haha that would be pretty awesome, West.

I'm still waiting on my DV-72 to get back from being fixed BTW. Hopefully she sounds great once she's fixed up.

The D100C is definitely a nice show piece, but from what I understand the DV-72 and 73 used better wood, etc... so I guess I'd still expect those to outshine the D100 anyday, seeing as how its just a really fancy D55, if I'm not mistaken.

Alright guys. I just pulled the trigger (I'll have to sell some other/all guitars (no Guilds though!) in order to pay for this bad boy.

Paid 2650 for it. I'll have pics, etc... when she comes in next week. I know she'll need a good setup once she gets here though... she's been out of use for a long time.

D100C number 50, made early 1998.

Pretty fair price. Looking forward to some pics and how you think she sounds.

Nice carving, of course, and from what I can tell the neck looks straight and solid.

To answer some questions: yes, that was my craigslist ad looking for specific models...

I keep some guitars for myself, and some are for a friend of mine who is also a Guildoholic.

Funny enough, I had some guy email me saying his company had a DV-73, #6 of the run. I made him an offer (which apparently he didnt like) and he went incommunicado very quickly. Oh well..

Ah, and one more thing:

Major score!!! Bling Bling, that's what I'm talking about.

I saw your ad one day, then while reading this post, saw that you were up in Atlanta. Just a guess..

Any hits on a JF-100? 8)

haha, no, no hits on the JF100. From what I've gathered, these are significantly more rare than D100s.

I still wouldn't mind finding a DV-73 though... although I'm running out of stuff to sell to pay for these guitars!

I think we all need to get together, buy Guild from FMIC (hahahaha) and have them make a DV100 model! Could you imagine?
I think we should make a wish list of features for that one!

In the shop still. Chicago Fret Works tried a new finish touch-up and customers complained so I told them to use their tried and true stuff. Should be ready next week!

Now all you need is a JF-100-12 to go with it (for those 12 string songs you want to do)!

Peace,

James
