Well, here's something. Texasdave just posted something in the Humor section and he lists as "Member". Not Senior or Junior, just plain "Member". How does that happen?? Makes you wonder, huh??

Chaz, if the cape thing doesn't pan out you could try some cool headgear. Lotsa guys don't have capes but they almost always have cool headgear: Spiderman, Daredevil, Frono...
And no, braces don't count.

I've run a vB board since vB has been around (a long time). I'm happy to help any way I can.

The member/senior membor thing is driven by post count and is called the "User Rank". The software can be configured with many levels. For example on a Martial Arts board you could make the members like this:

0: White belt
50: Yellow belt
100: Orange belt
200: Green belt
300: Blue belt
etc.
2000: Black belt

It's completely configurable.

Similarly, a Moderator is someone that can moderate posts in a forum. A Super Moderator is someone that can moderate posts in all forums, though that too is configurable.

An administrator is someone who has complete control over the software that runs the board (vBulliten).

Other groups exist and can be made. For example if someone gets banned they go into the "Banned" group, and that will show up under their name.

Ah, but in my discipline, we have purple after blue, then 3 levels or brown belt just prior to black belt.

Uh-oh.
That could put some real teeth into the "verboten topics rules".

I'm not sure we've ever had to take moderation action like that, Al, except for spammers.

Don't take that as an invitation. :D :D

That sounds like Tae Kwon Do? We are the American Society of Karate, and belt classifications are as follows in American Karate.

White
Yellow
Orange
Green
Blue
1st Purple
2nd Purple
3rd Brown
2nd Brown
1st Brown
Black !st
Black 2nd
Black 3rd
Black 4th
Black 5th

Always interesting to see how others do things. Some of the criteria to earn a black belt in American Karate was that we had to attend 2 outside tournaments, then find 2 other martial arts instructors and interview them, with reports required on all of the above. it was fascinating to learn about the other disciplines. I sat thrugh both Aikido and Kung Fu classes, afterwards interviewing the instructors. I also chose to attend Tae Kwon Do and Judo tournaments.

Studied 5 years. Studied and taught 5 years Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do. Got 2nd degree in Hap ki Do in Tae Gu City Korea. Two of my instructors went on to college and I was left alone to teach too many classes. The dojangs paid for lots of trips to Jamaica.

For the Red Stripes?
:)

Hey, good one.:D

I love both Jamaica and beer. Therefore Red Stripe does not fit in the equation. Appleton rum and a good stogy, on the other hand, give me great pleasure.
